The only photographer you should compare yourself to is the photographer you used to be.

A short inspection trip to Phan Rang during Jul 2024 as nice, I find out some interesting things about location for photography in Phan Rang. One of the most interesting discovery is the Rock Park in the Nui Chua National Park, it is very nice landscape nearby the beach, we need to take a walk about 2 km to get there from the road or using motorbike taxi to go directly to the shooting point. This place is really nice for both sunrise and sunset photography as well as milkyway, but this is the rural area, no service except the service of camping area.

Dong Nai is the nice and convenient place for bird photography in Vietnam. It is mainly the endemic birds in the highland and forest stretch from Dong Nai to Lam Dong. There are some great bird hides in Dong Nai very nice for photographer to enjoy bird photography, they are careful set up to attract natural birds to come and enjoy the site. The nice period for bird photography in Dong Nai is from December to April, the other season is random to have more bird in these bird sites. Just one day enjoy the bird sites, I have more than 20 species of birds, some of them are nice such as Blue Rumped Pitta, Banded Kingfisher, Indochinese Green Magpie, Indochinese Blue Flycatcher, Laced Woodpecker, Common Flameback, Silver Breasted Broadbill.

In Mekong Delta, this period is a great time for photography of migratory birds. We have visited Rach Gia, and really enjoy the photography of Black Headed Gull (Seagull), we enjoy both early morning and late afternoon shootings. The seasonal of black headed gull is Feb to Mar yearly. Then we visit Tram Chim National Park in Dong Thap Province, also in Mekong Delta. This place is huge and have a lot of migratory birds from Dec to Mar yearly. One of the most famous birds of this place is Sarus Crane - Sếu đầu đỏ - Antigone, this year they coming to this place not much, but I heard the news that the government are doing something for conservation this precious bird. And I think in the near future, photography of Sarus Crane in Vietnam is more and more easily as before.

This trip is successful beyond my expectation. Our group members are 6 people from all around the world, but we have the same passion of photography and enjoy the trip so much. They also enjoy Vietnamese food at our selected restaurants. I can see this is the most successful photo tour that I do so far. The trips start in Feb and May period with the weather is great for photography. We depart from Ho Chi Minh City to the highland areas of Bao Loc and Da Lat. Luckily the weather was amazing at the tea hill and the lake of Tuyen Lam. Then we follow the coastal road to transfer to the central of Vietnam to enjoy the photography at handicraft villages and landscape of southern coastal Vietnam. 

The trip of 6 members from Canada was depart from Ho Chi Minh City to Mekong delta and travel along the coastal to the central of Vietnam. This trip was fun and have more experience of photography tour in Vietnam. Especially, our group visit the memory show in Hoi An and enjoy it so much. 

I had been Mu Cang Chai with Mr. Bao Son for inspection trip of photography tour in 2019. That season is summer, and I try to chase the moment of watering in the rice fields. But actually, the water in the rice fields base on the natural water and weather, so it is hard to predict exactly nice time for photography of the watering of the rice terrace, it is during May to Jun. 

This trip is the key idea of mine to open to photography tour in Vietnam, then later I am searching, create itinerary, marketing and leading photo tours with the support of my friends as pro photographer.
