Vietnam Photography Tour Review

lFlWe recently booked a tour with An Bui Photography (Viet Ventures Travel Agency) in Vietnam. This included a 3 day private trip to Cao Bang and three separate photo shoots in Hoi An.
The whole experience was outstanding from start to finish. An Bui was highly professional and provided clear, detailed information about the itinerary, and was always quick to respond to all our queries which made everything run smoothly.

The photography aspect exceeded our expectations. All of the models were excellent—very cooperative, expressive, and helpful throughout the shoots—allowing us to capture some truly amazing images. An Bui had great attention to detail to make sure that everything was just right in the photos. A local photography guide at each area helped with photo set ups and liaison with models etc.

What really stood out was the level of support from An Bui. Beyond photography, he went the extra mile by assisting with selection of meals at the restaurants including local delicacies and also with logistics, including helping us with our luggage and ensuring a smooth transition on and off the train between Hanoi and Da Nang. An Bui provided advice on places for us to visit in and around Hoi An after the photography tour ended.

Overall, this tour was well-organized, creatively fulfilling, and supported by a dedicated team. We would highly recommend it to anyone interested in travel photography in Vietnam and getting off the beaten track in this wonderful country.

Four of us just returned from spending twelve days with An Bui on a private photo tour that included birding in the Mekong Delta and street/cultural/people in the far north along the Ha Giang Loop. The tour was amazing!
An is a very kind, calm, and patient person. His handling of the logistics was flawless. The trip was planned a year in advance, and all communication from the start was timely and comprehensive. Early on he assessed our physical ability (all of us in our 70's) and made plans accordingly. Each day was carefully planned for maximum sights and photo ops along with rest stops. All the hotels were comfortable with modern conveniences. We ate many meals family style, An ordered for us, and the food was delicious and plentiful. He has contacts with many of the places and people we photographed and we always felt safe and welcomed. An will give you as much help with your photography as you ask for. He frequently made suggestions for me about settings and where the best angle for the photo was. Both our drivers in the South and the North were excellent, keeping us safe in the crazy traffic. At the end, An had a free day in Hanoi before he met his next tour, so we got an extra day with him in the city. I would not hesitate to go with
An again.

I had the best time on this photo tour with An Bui and the gang. They are the loveliest people, really accommodating, kind and generous. I did a 2 weeks Art Tour and it was an eye opener. Despite having gone to Vietnam for at least 10 times previously I was taken to places that I wouldn't be able to find and given opportunities to take photos that I would not been able to do so easily. Paying for this privilege is worth it!!! The accommodation we stay is pretty good and the food was delicious! You get good bang for your buck!! I highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to have the opportunity to take cultural images. It would have been good to have more of an understanding of the history of the different places we visited or more inside the ethnic minorities, just because I'm a curious person and enjoy learning. Just saying.... Overall - 10/10!! I will be booking another photo tour with An Bui.

The trip was superbly organised. There were a wide variety of locations and cultural themes to photograph. Each shoot was carefully arranged to get the best possible shots. My goal on such a tour is to come away with around 12 “keeper shots”. Well, An Bui made sure that I ended up with far more, despite the poor weather and flat lighting we had during the tour. I highly recommend An Bui if you are considering a photo tour of Vietnam.

The trip was extremely well organised, all photo shoots, hotels, restaurants and transport. The photos I took home are a fantastic reminder of the culture and crafts (some dying out now) of the people and places we visited. However it is the personal meetings with local people, the warmth of their welcome and infectious smiles that will last a lifetime. This was possible because An Bui took us to many off the beaten track locations. I would highly recommend a tour with An Bui and his team.

An Bui is a very honest and trustworthy person. My friends and I participated in An Bui's Grand Vietnam photography tour. We were very satisfied with An Bui's arrangement of activities and shooting locations. The view are amazing and unique. Their team took special care of our older friends. No matter how bad the weather it was, he would try his best to arrange activity for us to take pictures.
The hotels we stayed in exceeded our expectations. They are all the best in the area. As for food, we tried many different local delicacies every day. We appreciate Vietnamese food very much. The restaurants are all better local restaurants.
Let me tell you how satisfied we are! My friends and I have already signed up for An Bui’s tour next year before our tour ends.

Did my first photo tour in Feb 2024 with Viet Ventures headed by Mr. An Bui. Before signing on with An Bui, I did a google search and a few companies came up. Contacted a few companies and from my first communication with An Bui, I noticed his passion , commitment, knowledge, promptness to reply and address my concerns n questions. He is always happy to share his knowledge and experience. There is no doubt meeting him in person the very first time he is exactly the person I thought he would be. His tour on the ground is as what he described and he has a wonderful n helpful ground team to help us throughout the tour and photo sessions. I did like also to highlight a few times An Bui went all the way to add extras for our group. For this, he’s always open to suggestions to make the trip a unique for everyone. The meals and accommodation is beyond my expectations. Rest assured, there’s more than enough for everyone every meal with extras (for takeaway too). In terms of road travel, we travel in a comfortable 10 seater van with plenty of room for our luggage and camera gear. Our wonderful driver is very careful and very experienced with the roads. An Bui is also assisted by a professional photographer to help us during the tour. He would make suggestions and help us with getting the best shots. I would definitely join An Bui again for my photo tour.

We went at our second photo tour with Viet Ventures and with Mr An Bui as a leader for the tour. This tour was a perfect tour for us when we like to take pictures of people in action, people working and street photo. We started some days early in the morning to have nice nature pictures with the morning fog, some days we visited old factories during there work and also several days we had the possibility to take pictures of local models, such us nice elderly people or young girls in traditional Vietnam clothes. Early in the morning we took pictures of fishermen throwing there nets when the sun just went up over the horizon. At this tour we was only six persons which means that there is always space when taking pictures of peoples or models inside or outside. Beyond Mr An Bui there are also Mr Man, the driver, and Mr Son, who take care of the photo spots and the models, who both are photographer and always tell us the best place and angel to take the pictures.
In the evening all in the group had dinner together and discussing the days photo spots and Mr An Bui also told us the next days program.
Mr An Bui is organizing these tours very well and everything is working very smooth.
We can only recommend Mr An Bui the best especially if you like to take pictures of people in action and in different situations.
