DAY 1: HANOI / MU CANG CHAI
The 4 day photo tour to Mu Cang Chai Rice Terraces will start from Hanoi. We will pick you up at your hotel.
Morning transfer from Hanoi to Mu Cang Chai with 6 hours of driving.
Lunch at a local restaurant.
Afternoons enjoy photography with the hill of the rice terrace.
Dinner at homestay in Mu Cang Chai.
Overnight at homestay in Mu Cang Chai (Basic accommodation).
DAY 2: MU CANG CHAI
Enjoy sunrise photography at the Mu Cang Chai Rice Terraces (Enjoy motorbikes to get to the shooting place). Currently using a motorbike is the most convenient way to get to the shooting place at the top of the rice terrace hill. The path is narrow and has a quiet slope, so motorbikes are the most convenient now. After experiencing the motorbike to the top of the rice terrace hill, you will admire one of the biggest views of the rice field in Vietnam.
Back to homestay for breakfast.
Lunch at a local restaurant.
Afternoon visiting minority village with the corn house (Model setup for photography).
Enjoy sunset at Mu Cang Chai rice terrace (Enjoy motorbikes to get to the shooting place again).
Dinner at homestay in Mu Cang Chai.
Overnight at homestay in Mu Cang Chai (Basic accommodation).
DAY 3: MU CANG CHAI
Today we will visit other Mu Cang Chai Rice Terraces or visit the previous places for different weather conditions.
Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner at homestay Mu Cang Chai.
Overnight at homestay in Mu Cang Chai (Basic accommodation).
DAY 4: MU CANG CHAI / HANOI
Enjoy morning photography at the Mu Cang Chai Rice Terraces with another place.
Breakfast at a local restaurant.
Morning transfer to Hanoi with 7 hours of driving.
Lunch at a local restaurant.
Arrival Hanoi in the afternoon. Transfering you to your hotel or Hanoi airport for your next destination.
End of service.

Rice Terrace Photo Tour Vietnam
Seasonal of rice terrace photography in Vietnam
Every year, during Aug to Sep, international photographer coming to Vietnam mainly for rice terrace in the north west of Vietnam. Beside to find the nice landscape photo of the rice terrace, they also would like to explore the rural area of the minority living in the mountains of Vietnam.
Although, there is difficult to get the nice rice terrace for photography, they still come for the nice shots. We need to use motorbike taxi to get the almost nice view for photography, it take about 15 to 30 minutes on the bike in the narrow path up to the hill, some place is flat, some place is high slope.
Beside the difficult of transportation, the accommodation is also difficult too. Due to this area is the rural places, so there are not many choices for good hotel. Mostly are homestays with dorm room and toilet out of the room and some have basic hotel but number of the room is not much.
Photography with water in the rice terrace fields
Normally during Jun (the period is from end of May to the early of Jun yearly), that is the time minority people in the north of Vietnam preparing for the new crops, they work at the rice terrace field, waiting rainy day to have enough water in the fields then they start planting young rice. Due the the water and seasonal, there is not whole are the same, some rice field hill has water, some not and dry. So, for photography of the wet rice terrace field is mainly by lucky. Moreover, this is the beginning of the rainy season so we may get wet, please prepare that.
Photography with the golden rice terrace fields
During Aug to Sep is the golden rice terrace for photography. Some of the nice rice fields are full of tourists if you come on the weekend, some rural rice terrace views are quieter. This period is the end of the rainy season, so may still have some rainy days. Photography of the rice terrace mostly by lucky.
Photography with people culture of minority in the rural area of northern Vietnam
Early morning and late afternoon for rice terrace and other times is to discover the people cultures of the minority in the rural places. The Hmong people is the mainly people living in the rice terrace hill of the north west Vietnam. We can visit some local minority village, ask them for photography if any.

To me, Mu Cang Chai is the best place for photography tour of rice terrace in Vietnam. This place is still rural enough, and the road condition is good to transfer from the big city to the town of Mu Cang Chai. Moreover, there are a lot of nice huge rice terrace hill not yet discover by photographers and the local people are nice and friendly. If you do not mind the basic travel service in the rural area of Mu Cang Chai, this place would be nice for you to travel with soft adventures.

Photo Tour to rice terrace in Hoang Su Phi, Ha Giang
Once I discover the Hoang Su Phi rice terrace was memorable. I am really impressive with how difficult we take with the traffic as the the land slide. During the period of rice terrace in Hoang Su Phi is the end of the rain season of this area, so after the rain season, most of the road condition in Ha Giang is risk of land slide and it may affect to the traffic. But the landscape of rice terrace in Hoang Su Phi is great. It is not huge and many like Mu Cang Chai rice terrace but the rice terrace in Hoang Su Phi is located in higher hills, more difficult to get the top of the hills, and it is more chance to have the rice terrace in the mist or cloudy. The travel service in Hoang Su Phi rice terrace also basic, but I can see better than Mu Cang Chai nowadays.

Most of the seasonal for rice terrace in north hill Vietnam is from Aug to Sep, some places till the beginning of October. Sapa in the before is the best place for rice terrace photography in the north of Vietnam due to easy access by road and train, also the travel service is Sapa is great, more luxury hotels. But Sapa and arounds nowadays are modern too much, it still have rice terrace hills to we need to go far to the country side about 1 hour of driving. Anyway, Sapa is still worth to discover during the golden season of rice terrace in the north hills of Vietnam. You can do a loop tour from Hanoi, Mu Cang Chai, Sapa, Bac Ha, Hoang Su Phi and back to Hanoi.
